Our Mission

The mission of Pamoja Charity is to partner with African evangelical church leaders to meet the spiritual and physical needs of orphaned and vulnerable children in response to Jesus’ command to “lay our lives down for others” (I Jn 3:16) because Jesus Christ laid His life down for us. Pamoja Charity is devoted to helping these children become Godly contributors to their communities by providing: safe and loving living facilities; educational and vocational sponsorships, and financial support for church planting efforts in the surrounding slums of Nairobi.

We are a faith-based, Christ-centered non-profit organization which originated in the United Kingdom. Pamoja UK was started in 1997 by Tim and Sheena Griffin who while living in Kenya were asked by a local pastor if they could find sponsors to help local children whose parents were too poor to afford school fees and uniform. Pamoja Charity currently runs two orphanages and one school in Kenya with 160 children. To send one child to school for one year at the Mier Pamoja School in Kenya costs $120.
